In recognition and honour of special contributions, the Sovereign Military Hospital Order of Malta (SMOM), within the framework of Malteser International, bestowed upon A.A. Ritter von Lutter and R.A.U. Freiherr von Quast-Juchter, the Malteser International Medal of Commitment. This medal is seldomly awarded.
